I am on a mission. What mission? To introduce people to freedom!
We have been in bondage for far too long. I am afraid that we have set in place our own prison bars, but we forgot that we did not lock the prison bar doors. The lock was broken a long time ago, however, we have been so comfortable in our closed and dark space that we are not sure what to do once we are free.
Today is the day to take a step forward and walk out of the darkness. It is important to God that we live well. (Tweetable @GailDudley)
Over the next 7 days, I will make a blog post based on my time with God how you can be free prior to entering 2018. Some of the topics may be difficult for you to work through. No worries. There will be a team of intercessors interceding on your behalf. Have a prayer request? Email [email protected]
Practical Guidance for Dealing with Addiction ~
1) Assume personal responsibility (Eph. 4:18)
It’s absolutely important to take personal responsibility. The first point I always stress in my inner-healing coaching sessions and Getting To The Root of It workshops…”Admit that something is wrong.” Nothing more…be true to yourself. Stop lying and say, “Something is wrong.” That’s half the battle right there.
2) Abstinence and detoxification (1 Peter 2:11, James 1:21)
Do everything you can to take the time to detox. Do a detox of your mind. Get rid of the junk and the lies that have clouded your mind.
3) Voluntary counseling and accountability (Romans 15:14, and James 1:19)
Do not be ashamed to seek help. Not interested in counseling? Invest in a prayer coach. Inner-healing starts with prayer. Yes. Invest in yourself.
4) Social reorientation (1 Cor. 15:33, 2 Cor. 6:14-18)
You may have to remove yourself from some circles. Change who you hang around. To be healthy…you have to surround yourself with healthy people.
5) Honest support group involvement (2 Cor. 1:3-7, Proverbs 27:5-6)
Find an accountability partner. Submit to someone on your journey. Trust the process.
You don’t have to do this alone. http://gaildudley.com/wounded.html
