Urgent Plea for Prayer
Welcome to Day 20 of Urgent Plea for Prayer. This image is the Mediterranean Sea. There was something about the sun reflecting from the water and the mountain that allowed a peace come upon me like never before. Not only was the sun shining, but there was a calmness that spoke to my spirit. Notice in the image the clouds. Yet, the sun comes piercing through. Let that sink in. Regardless of the darkness that may be upon a situation, if we pray and worship the atmosphere must shift.
Tweetable: When we pray regularly God’s light will shine even in the darkness. @GailDudley
Have you ever awakened to a bright sunshine piercing through your window? I have. So after I am awakend simply by this bright presence that cannot be explained, I find my way down the stairs toward the kitchen. I sit at the table and gaze at the beauty of His holiness, sitting in awe of God as I am consistently reminded of just how amazing He is.
Usually with this sort of glaze it gives a mirrored reflection of the light into the darkness. I find I ask God often, “Lord, what are You speaking?” Many times God does not immediately respond, so I sit in silence. In His time He will reveal to me answers to many questions. When it comes to a glaze that some- times awaken me from my slumber, He gives me the same answer. He impresses upon me the following, “When we pray there will be times of darkness; however, in the darkness His light will shine forth.” Those words always give me calm and comfort. No matter how dark a situation, His light will shine forth!
“For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:6).
Have you ever experienced seeing God’s light shine through the darkness as you prayed? Write those times here to refer back to from time to time when you find yourself in darkness.
