Day 11 & 12 ~ Urgent Plea for Prayer
“This is too much.” “This is too difficult.” “I’m growing weary.” “I am exhausted!” The list goes on. This is not the time to quit. This is the exact time to keep praying.
The enemy has declared war and has begun a battlefield with your mind. This is why it is important to stay the course and have a time of praise.
We must stay the course.
It’s difficult especially with so much going on. Way too much in front of us to choose to pray. Do we focus and pray for our neighbors? Do we focus and pray for our schools? Do we focus and pray for our elected officials? Do we focus and pray for the devastated areas caused by fires, hurricanes, or terrorist attacks? Do we focus and pray for our immediate households that are staying together by a single thread?
Often we go into a time of prayer to only find ourselves in a state of frustration as we try and balance everyday life situations on top of the chaos of world affairs. We sense the calling to serve on the front-line only to find that we are now growing weary. We want to pray and yet there’s so much to pray for that we would rather say, “I’ll sit this one out.”
Distractions on top of distractions. There’s a battlefield taking place within our minds as we try to press forward, and stay focused on what’s at hand. We are pulled this way, that way, and the other. And yet, there’s an urgency to stay the course and pray. We cannot stop now.
We are in this together. We are already 12 days in. I will pray for you. Please pray for me. There’s strength in community. Let’s hold one another up and stay the course. Fill free to take a rest, but then get back on your post and pray. Together we can experience a shifting. Just remember, “The gates of Hades will not prevail.” (Matthew 16:18)
