Urgent Plea for Prayer

Fasting is a prayer strategy for this time set aside to be with God without interruptions. Seek the Lord for His will, guidance, and direction, along with His protection and covering. Pray for the resources you need (financial, skills, etc.). Pray for family, friends, coworkers, your neighborhood, and church. Pray for a clean heart. Pray for forgiveness. Pray for reconciliation. Pray for an outpouring of God’s love and direction.

“Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it lingers, wait for it. It will certainly come and will not delay” (Habakkuk 2:2-3).

  • Prepare your heart for the fast by praising and worshiping God.
  • Begin with prayer to the Lord and repent of any sins.
  • Establish a time each day to spend alone with God. Five minutes, ten minutes, twenty minutes, or even a half hour.
  • Read your Bible daily.
  • Be specific in your request to God.
  • Be expectant. Consider keeping a prayer journal to record thoughts, prayers, and answers.
  • Be aware of the enemy’s strategies.
  • Pray for a prayer partner.

Prayer Strategy

Our main focus in calling this fast is to seek the Lord for His will, guidance, and direction, and for His protection and covering. People are wrestling with life. People are frustrated. There’s a lot of division between race, political parties, communities, demographics, nationality, etc. Pray for unity. Pray for resources. Pray for families. Pray for reconciliation. Pray for an outpouring of God’s love and direction. Pray for healing.

“Then the Lord replied, ‘Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it lingers, wait for it. It will certainly come and will not delay’ ” (Habakkuk 2:2-3).

We are half way through our 31-day journey of prayer. This would be a great time to go deeper in your prayer life and do an individual study of prayer or bring together a small group of 3 – 5 and so a study on prayer.
