Urgent Plea for Prayer
The journey continues while in Israel. This image is from Masada. Masada in Hebrew means fortress, stronghold. Root word also means the top or peak of a mountain, mountain castle, fortress. This is an ancient fortification atop an isolated rock plateau in the Judean Desert, overlooking the Dead Sea. On this day as we climbed the mountain, it was 111 degrees.
In looking at this image in this desert, I could not help but see the green trees. I asked God to speak to me about what I was seeing. I had asked before departing for the missionary prayer journey for God to remove the scales from my eyes so that I might be able to see supernaturally. Time and time again He did as I had asked. In this image, God showed me that even in the desert, where I will grow as I draw close to him. As God’s children, it is when we thirst we draw closer into a more intimate relationship with Jesus.
“Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up” (James 4:8-10).
Two questions we must ponder ~
1) Have you ever had a thirst for God?
2) Are you currently thirsty?
Five points to wrestle through when we find ourselves in a place of being thirsty, and a place of brokenness:
1. Submit yourself fully to God
2. Draw near to God
3. Purify your heart
4. Grieve
5. Humble yourself
We have three more days to our Urgent Plea for Prayer journey. I’m soon to return to the states. I cannot help but ask these questions. How has this journey been for you over the 31-days of prayer? Would you be interested in taking a biblical prayer journey with Ministry in Motions? Would you like to sow into this ministry? Hope I will hear from you.
Prepare now for our next blog reading Who Told You That? The Truth about the Lies. Grab your copy on Amazon or Barnes and Noble. You may also purchase on www.GailDudley.com. There’s also a 156 page bible study/workbook available by purchasing directly through Gail Dudley.
31 days of urgent prayer, each time I pickup this book and do the 31 days God speaks differently. This time around I have been up on the mount top and down in the valley. Reading the book and following the blogs have given me peace when I needed it the most. Thank you for ministering to us.
I would love to take a biblical prayer journey.
You are welcome, Mary. When I first launched Urgent Plea for Prayer I wondered why 31-days. The Holy Spirit showed me that it pushes us to continue to pray. 5, 7, 12 days is easy for most of us, but to continue each day will help develop us and nurture us to draw near to Jesus. I had the opportunity to be in Israel for two weeks of this 31-days. WOW! What a life experience! I am more thirsty for God now than ever before.
Stay tuned. I am working on a biblical prayer journey for 2019.
