“The acts of the sinful nature are obvious:…jealousy… envy…” (Galatians 5:19-21)
JEALOUSY is the fleshly disapproval for how God is blessing somebody else. Its twin sister ENVY is wanting for yourself what somebody else has. In either case, these selfish attitudes express a deep disregard and disrespect for God. You literally communicate to God, “I don’t like how You are treating me.” Sister girl…Get over it! Here is your prescription for healing from jealousy and envy:
- Accept the fact that you don’t control, dictate, or communicate to God what He is to do. The Lord knows exactly how to bless you. Maybe the reason He won’t bless you like you want is because of your attitude.
- Ask God’s forgiveness and continued cleansing of your heart. (1 John 1:9)
- Begin praising God for what you have (and what you do not have). (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
Just as important is being able to praise God for how He chooses to bless others. (Romans 12:15) Swallow these three pills and look for God to work in your life. Be healed in the name of Jesus from “jealously!”
